EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specific and specialized treatment for PTSD, trauma, anxiety and depression.  It is very effective during in person or telehealth sessions.  It is not hypnosis, and you are in control the entire time, allowing your brain to reprocess and remap emotional attachment to specific memories.  It doesn’t change the memory or experience, but does change your emotional reaction to the memory, therefore, making it easier to acknowledge and accept the past experience.

Your therapist will discuss and prepare you for the process before you start doing EMDR in session to determine if it is a suitable therapeutic treatment for you.   Please reach out to one of the therapists for more information and to schedule appointments.
